Training opportunities

Did you know?

The shortage of pharmacists remains the biggest challenge facing the pharmacy sector in South Africa – and many other countries in the world.

In order for South Africa to reach the World Health Organization (WHO) target of pharmacist to population ratio of 1:2300, “pharmacy schools would need to double their current production and three additional pharmacy schools would need to be operational”.

How can we help?

As a result of this shortage, Life Healthcare has created various training opportunities to build capacity in the pharmacy sector.

These opportunities include our pharmacist’s assistant programme, a well-established pharmacist intern programme and we also actively participate in a pharmacy preceptor programme with a leading South African University.
